All right, kiddies, here are some of my TFW adventures from Saturday and Sunday. I’ll have my wrap-up post a little later on, with some of my favorite photos and stories from the con.
- I’m combining Saturday and Sunday because I spent most of Saturday waiting to meet Dario Argento. The doors opened at 11:00 and the Maestro took lunch from 12:00 to 2:30 (very Continental of him), so all told I was in line for about five hours. I think you guys know by now that I would have waited five days if I had to, so five hours was nothing. He signed my Suspiria group photo, and I shook his hand, thanked him, and told him it was an honor to meet him. If the con had ended right then and there I would have been happy.

- I got signatures from Claudio Simonetti, Barbara Magnolfi, and Udo Kier to complete my Suspiria photo. Udo Kier is insane, and I love him for it.
- Notable cosplay sightings: Castiel from Supernatural, Vampirella, Leslie Vernon from Behind the Mask, a few Valaks from The Conjuring 2, Twisty the Clown from AHS: Freak Show, a Killer Klown from Outer Space, Sam from Trick ‘r Treat, and a really clever and badass vampire Harley Quinn and victim Poison Ivy. I’ll get lots of good cosplay photos next year, I promise.
- I took a photo with Thomas G. Waites, Dean Cundey, Keith David, and Wilford Brimley from The Thing in which they all look as if I have kidnapped their loved ones in exchange for a picture with them.

- I did some shopping (I’ll post a picture of all my loot in my wrap-up post) and then headed back to the hotel, determined to get there early on Sunday. I am definitely going VIP next year so I can get some of those sweet, sweet line skips.
- When I was waiting for my shuttle, a car drove past and a little girl leaned out of the window and yelled, “Hi, clown! Hi, clown!” at a Pennywise cosplayer. He gave her a perfect Pennywise wave in return. It was one of the funniest and creepiest things I have ever seen.
- I met Pollyanna McIntosh (Jadis on The Walking Dead, a character I am completely obsessed with), who was very cool and complimented me on my eyeliner. Two of her Walking Dead castmates (Tom Payne and Austin Amelio) had to cancel due to filming, so I was thrilled that she was still able to make it.
-
Another one of my trademark “What the hell do I do with my hands?” photos. - Next I lined up for the Suspiria panel. I’ll talk more about that in my wrap-up post, but for now let me just say that it was incredible. Just being in the same room with those people was amazing, but it was a really interesting and informative panel. Kudos to Elric Kane for his excellent moderating.
- After the panel let out, I picked up some more Arrow Video movies and a couple of Suspiria shirts. Right before I left for home, I managed to get a photo with Danny Lloyd from The Shining.
Your eyes are not playing tricks on you — my hair did indeed grow three sizes that day. The Shining is one of my favorite horror movies, so this was a pretty rad way to end my first Texas Frightmare Weekend.
Stay tuned for my wrap-up post later today and some Mother’s Day horror tomorrow. For now: bye, clown!
